Before and After School clubs

The Before and After school Club is run by St Walburga’s Catholic Primary School and exists to provide high quality out-of-school hours childcare for our parents. It provides a range of stimulating and creative activities in a safe environment.

The club operates from 7.30 am - 8.30am and from 2.50pm – 5.45pm term time only.

All parents must complete a registration form for each child attending the club and sign an agreement to adhere to the club policy.

Admissions

· Only children attending St Walburga’s Catholic Primary School are eligible to attend the Club

· All places are subject to availability

· The registration process must be completed prior to the child’s commencement at the club

· Non-contracted pupils are welcome to use the club provided there are spaces and parents/carers have previously completed the registration process

Arrival and Departure

Before School Club

Parents/carers are required to bring their child directly to the club and sign them in. You should enter the club via the Key Stage 1 playground, and staff will be alerted to your arrival when you press the club doorbell situated on the Reading Den.

Children will be escorted onto the relevant playground at 8.40am by the club staff.

After School Club

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children will be collected from their classroom by a member of club staff. KS2 children will come to the club from their classrooms.

The staff will take a register of all contracted children and will liaise with the school office  immediately to determine any reason why a child is not accounted for.

When a child is collected at the end of or during a session, they must be signed out by a parent/carer and the time recorded.

Parents/carers must ensure that any person who may collect their child is listed on the registration form and that it is kept fully up to date.

Parents must inform club staff if their child is going to be absent from club, either via the Club mobile or via the school office. If they are phoning to inform the school that their child is going to be absent from school, they must also inform the office if their child is due to attend club.

Daily routine:

7.30am – 8.30am- parents bring their children to Before School Club situated in the club room where a range of activities are set out.

8.00am - children wishing to have breakfast wash their hands and are offered a range of food.

8.20am - tidy up time, encouraging children to take responsibility for the club environment.

8.30am -  children collect their coats and bags. Both KS1 and KS2 children are escorted to their appropriate playground where they join the rest of the children awaiting the start of school.

Afternoon session:

2.50pm – 2.55pm – children go to club, register is taken

3.45pm (approx.) - children will be offered a snack and a drink

Children will be offered a range of play and planned activities, indoors and outdoors.

5.45pm—children MUST be collected by 5.45pm at the latest.

Booking a place:

Places can be booked at the school club via Wisepay. Places will be offered first to those who have registered an interest, and take up a regular place at the club.

Payment must be made at the time of booking – this can be done via Wisepay or using childcare vouchers.

Places cannot be reserved unless they are paid for in advance, and if a regular parent fails to book and pay for a place in advance, before the booking is opened to the wider school community, they may forfeit that place in future months. Payment is due for all sessions reserved in advance, and you will not receive a refund if your child does not attend a booked session.

The current cost of this provision (November 2020) is £10.00 per session for the After School Provision, and £4.00 per session for Breakfast Club.

A charge will be levied for late collection. A fee will be applied from 5.45pm onwards at £1 per minute per child. This charge will be invoiced by the school office directly.
